Dedicated Support for Veterans in Saint Petersburg, FL

Dawn Wallace

Chief Executive Officer, Chow Time Florida Corp

Dawn Wallace is the Chief Executive Officer of Chow Time Florida Corp, where she leads the organization with a deep commitment to culinary excellence, community support, and service to U.S. Veterans.

With an extensive background in the food service industry spanning restaurants, hotels, theme parks, retail, and grocery environments, Dawn brings decades of operational leadership and an unwavering passion for the power of food to transform lives and communities.

Raised in a family that understood firsthand the challenges of food insecurity, Dawn’s personal journey fuels her mission today—using her platform to support individuals and families in need. Known among friends and family for her hospitality and love of cooking, Dawn believes food is more than a meal; it is a source of comfort, connection, and dignity. That belief is the cornerstone of Chow Time Florida Corp’s culture and values.

Dawn’s dedication to the veteran community is deeply rooted in her own family’s history of military service. Although she did not serve personally, she is the proud descendant of military heroes dating back to the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Her lineage includes her sixth great-grandfather, Yost Miller, a Revolutionary War soldier; multiple ancestors who served in the Civil War; and generations of service members in the U.S. Army and Air Force. Her husband, Michael Wallace, is a United States Coast Guard veteran who received the Hero’s Medal in 1997 for saving a young girl’s life and earned additional commendations that afforded him the honor of meeting President Ronald Reagan. Their son, Michael Barton, has recently returned from service in the U.S. Army.

This heritage forms the foundation of Dawn’s advocacy and her commitment to ensuring that Chow Time Florida Corp remains a champion for veterans and their families—through employment, outreach, and community initiatives.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dawn is a devoted mother to three daughters and a son. She enjoys spending time on the water, staying active, and fostering environments—both at home and within her organization—where people feel welcomed, supported, and seen.

Through vision, lived experience, and purpose-driven leadership, Dawn Wallace continues to shape Chow Time Florida Corp into a mission-focused brand that serves great food, strengthens communities, and honors those who serve this nation.

Jason Hands

Vice President - Chow Time Florida Corporation

Jason R. Hands is a community leader, nonprofit executive, team builder, and dedicated advocate for Veterans who believes that strong organizations are built through relationships, accountability, collaboration, and a shared commitment to serving others.

Jason serves as Vice President and CFO of Chow Time Florida Corporation, a Florida nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity and social isolation among Veterans throughout St. Petersburg and Pinellas County. Through Chow Time Florida, Jason works alongside fellow board members, volunteers, community organizations, local businesses, donors, and strategic partners to help build a sustainable organization focused on a simple but important mission: ensuring that Veterans in need have access to nutritious meals, meaningful community support, and the dignity they deserve.

Jason's commitment to the Veteran community extends well beyond his leadership responsibilities with Chow Time Florida. Over the past several years, he has dedicated many hours of volunteer service at local American Legion Posts and VFW Halls throughout the Tampa Bay area. Working alongside Veterans, volunteers, and community members has given Jason a firsthand appreciation for the importance of Veteran service organizations and the critical role they play in providing fellowship, resources, advocacy, and support to those who have served our country.

These experiences have also strengthened Jason's commitment to helping build connections between Veterans, Veteran service organizations, nonprofits, local businesses, volunteers, and community leaders. He believes that some of the greatest opportunities to improve Veterans' lives come from organizations working together rather than independently.

A significant part of Jason's leadership philosophy centers on building effective teams and bringing people together around a common purpose. He believes successful community organizations require more than good intentions—they require strong leadership, clearly defined responsibilities, dependable volunteers, strategic partnerships, financial accountability, and people who are willing to work together to accomplish the mission.

At Chow Time Florida, Jason helps support organizational development, financial oversight, fundraising initiatives, community outreach, partnership development, volunteer engagement, and long-term strategic planning. He is particularly passionate about developing relationships with Veteran organizations, businesses, restaurants, healthcare organizations, community leaders, corporate sponsors, and volunteers who share Chow Time Florida's commitment to ensuring that no Veteran in the community is forgotten or left hungry.

Community service has been an important part of Jason's life for many years. In addition to his extensive involvement with local American Legion Posts and VFW Halls, he has volunteered his time and supported organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Metropolitan Ministries, and the Alzheimer's Association. These experiences have reinforced his belief that meaningful change happens when individuals are willing to contribute their time, experience, resources, and leadership to help others.

Jason also brings more than two decades of professional business experience to his nonprofit leadership. His career has provided extensive experience in relationship management, business development, strategic planning, communication, problem-solving, and building teams capable of producing measurable results. Today, he applies those skills toward expanding Chow Time Florida's impact and developing the partnerships, volunteer network, and organizational infrastructure necessary to serve more Veterans throughout the Tampa Bay community.

Jason's approach to leadership is straightforward: listen to people, build trust, create strong teams, lead by example, and never lose sight of the people the organization exists to serve.

Through his work with Chow Time Florida Corporation and his continued involvement in the Tampa Bay Veteran community, Jason remains committed to bringing together Veterans, volunteers, businesses, community organizations, and advocates around a shared mission:
